Hmmm. As this was meant to be a functional test server I probably
didn't configure enough threads for async-io (I'm too embarassed to say
how many <G>.) I might try again with 128 threads - more what I would
have in production, or is that still too low? We only have 350 users
total so the proxy load will not get much above 10 per second (I haven't
checked what our current Nutscrape is doing - partly 'cos I don't know
where to look.)
Incidentally, does anyone have an opinion on the use of async i/o on
Solaris 2.6 and 7 (and solaris 8 & 9 when I get approval to upgrade)
verses using diskd?
