AFAIK a CNAME RR is only a hostname. the domain will always be
appended. that means, if you specify 'qa-one.foobar.com' in the zone file
for domain 'xyz.com' the fqdn for this alias will be
''qa-one.foobar.com.xyz.com'.

i haven't the bind doc at hand, please correct me if i'm wrong.
