I've experienced one loop in windowsupdate myself. I had one station
updating for 12 hours or so. The user was completely unaware this was
going on and quite surprised when I called him. I didn't dig into it
much, but it was something run by a scheduler and I think he was running
windows ME.
My squid stats looked really good that week since the one station kept getting
23Mb (it's what I remember anyway) of the same cached stuff every hour.
I only recall seeing it from that one node and he rebooted his machine (his
choice, I just told him to check on it). I haven't seen it again (that was 2
months ago or so).
