Err.. that is the way IE works thru HTTP proxies. Squid has no problem
with sending contents or deleting contents on FTP sites if the browser
attempts to do so.. (Netscape can at least send files)

The "Enter Gateway Password" string stronly indicates there is an FTP
firewall inbetween Squid and the FTP site (about 98.5% probability).
