RE: [squid-users] Fw: FTP configuration

Ok,
The message about being read-only is normal, because of the way squid works.
You would get the same error if you were using any other HTTP proxy, like
MSProxy for instance.
About the password, don't you have any firewall blocking ftp traffic (Port
21)?
That may be the cause of your problem.
One other thing.
In order to connect to an FTP server using an user username other than
anonymous you must type the url like this
 ftp://username:password@service.server.com or
ftp://username@service.server.com (Not 100% sure on the last URL)
