[SQU] Queued Authenticator Processes

Hello together,

tonight, our Squid 2.2 stopped working. In syslog, we found the
following messages (approximately every ten minutes):

Dec 5 02:10:29 proxy.bosch.com squid[9566]: Too many queued authenticator
requests
Dec 5 02:21:10 proxy.bosch.com squid[11677]: Too many queued authenticator
requests
Dec 5 02:31:39 proxy.bosch.com squid[13388]: Too many queued authenticator
requests

Does this suggest that the number of authenticator processes is too
small? Then I wonder why this happened at night when there aren't that
many requests.
