What is your refresh_pattern settings? The FTP related refresh_pattern
settings in the default squid.conf must be used to allow Squid to cache
most FTP objects or any FTP listing.

This is due to the FTP protocol not carrying any useable dates for
directories, and many servers not supporting the extensions for querying
of modification dates of files.
