Firewall settings

Hi!
I have installed SQUID2.2STABLE on a linux box inside a firewall. I need
to give access to this squid from the clients outside the firewall. I dont
know much about firewall, so it would be really nice if someone could tell
me what changes I am supposed to make to the firewall settings to allow
this access. I did read the firewall section in the user guide but couldnt
figure out much with it.
