Optimal cache size(s)

Hi!
I couldn't find any suggestions for cache parameters. Numbers obtained
playing with Mbytes, Level-1, level 2 etc are just theory. I know there's
no way how to estimate average object size but there must be some very basic
recommendations.
Right now I run:

cache_dir ufs /cache 1024 16 256

and after some time I got:

Store Directory #0: /cache
First level subdirectories: 16
Second level subdirectories: 256
Maximum Size: 1048576 KB
Current Size: 28167 KB
Percent Used: 2.69%
Filemap bits in use: 3921 of 16384 (24%)
Filesystem Space in use: 452136/2956564 KB (15%)
Filesystem Inodes in use: 35164/376096 (9%)
