The syntax of the cache_dir directive has changed from release 2.2 to
2.3, see the release notes at http://squid.nlanr.net/Versions/v2/2.3/
(unfortunately not included with the distribution) and/or the comments
in the new (!) squid.conf.default file. Beware that if you upgraded
from 2.2, your squid.conf file will not have been overwritten so the
comments there will still refer to the old version.
