bzero/bcopy ?

Dear list,

As suggested on the faq I tried to use GNU-malloc (yes, I have an ever
growing
squid 2.2stable3), I encountered the folllowing error on compilation:

Undefined:
bzero in file /usr/lib/gnumalloc.a(malloc.o)
bcopy in file /usr/lib/gnumalloc.a(malloc.o)
fatal...

Which did not happen without GNU-malloc.
As I am not a C pro, can someone give me some clues how to solve this?

System running on is a Siemens ReliantUnix V5.43 (sysV derivate).
