[squid-users] Updating Squid

Hi Everybody!
i',m new in linux and i don't have too much idea how to update my old
squid (is already working)
i have the version 3.1.10.
i make this steps:

wget http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v3/3.3/squid-3.3.8.tar.gz
tar czvf squid-3.3.8.tar.gz
cd squid-3.3.8.tar.gz
./configure

but in this step i get this error:
[root_at_ProxyServer squid-3.3.8]# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... configure: error: newly
created file is older than distributed files!

any idea?
i need to uninstall my old version?
