Richard,
This is simple, just you have to rename squid binary. if you are using
Fedora/Redhat change the following
/usr/sbin/squid
/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid
/etc/rc.d/init.d/squid
and content of "/etc/rc.d/init.d/squid"
thats all
