Your squid has configured limits on the use of CONNECT requests. Skype
uses these requests through an HTTP proxy. You need to enable unlimited
access to CONNECT for the skype machines.
Yes I know its a major security hole, welcome to skype.
The bandwidth controls you have in squid are the cause of the patchy
sound, skype does its own thing with sound compression and does not like
being limited. You will need to bypass the bandwidth sharing policy or
increase the per-user rates to get great sound on skype through the proxy.
Again yes, welcome to skype.
Your users might complain about the patchy sound when everyone is
online, but what happens when they are hit with the huge bill...

People only who has a membership of internet connection should be able to access the internet. So I have to do it through squid. I am adding MAC addresses to squid to check if the client is a member or not. And also squid helps me caching & dividing the bandwitdh to make equal access to all clients. This is the origin of the problem.

-- Please use Squid 2.6STABLE17 or 3.0STABLE1. There are serious security advisories out on all earlier releases.Received on Mon Jan 07 2008 - 03:59:05 MST
