I am having a few problems with my newly installed and
configured squid cache. I am experiencing an awful lot
of TCP_MISS/200 and 504s etc and a lot of web pages
timimg out and giving me a 110 connection timed out
error. Also, if I type into the eddress bar of
Firefox, www.yahoo.co.uk and hit enter, the page
almost loads but informs me in the status bar "waiting
for row.bc.yahoo.com". If I hit the stop button,
sometimes it will let me browse to another page but
will never let me click on the Yahoo mail icon as it
will just sit there and do nothing except for the hour
glass or arrow in Firefox, going round and round. Some
websites are o.k. but most are infuriatingly slow and
a lot seem to wait for gif's etc, or if I am doing a
web search for example with google, the status bar at
the bottom of mozilla will display waiting for
www.google.co.uk. www.soundcontrol.co.uk is a
particulary slow one as it gives me the "waiting for
google-analytics.com status bar message. Can anyone
help please? I am running Squid 2.6 stable 4 on Fedora
Core 6 on an HP Compaq ML370 server.
