[squid-users] Windows-Update vs. digest-auth?

A user of our proxy (which required digest-authentication) reports
that his Windows-Update (whatever method he uses) doesn't work. He's
asked to enter username and password, yet the update fails.

Is this a known shortcoming in the Windows-Update service?
