ok, the default process max size is 512MB which is automatically the default
user proc max size and often not enough for squid.

this values are tunable and can be configured in /boot/loader.conf without
compiling the kernel

so easily you set any desired value in loader.conf for

kern.maxdsiz="bytes"

You do not need to increase the user max proc size and default max proc size
since it assumes automatically the above value

so no need to fiddle around with login defaults and or other tweaks
