Remarkable. In the initial post of this thread you state
that squid is crashing periodically.
We need to focus on squid here. Not your system.
These crashes can lead to this error and , for instance.
Swap.state becoming corrupted.

Not that the error 6 maybe a logfile beeing to big, or swap.state
over 2 Gig, would lead to the same error, and that situation
would then become tied to the disk-space-over-limit error.
