RRDTools is just the "backend" to store those data. MRTG graphs them.
You may perhaps want to take a look at Cricket (cricket.sf.net) which is
another tool that uses RRDTools and is suited better for "heavier
monitoring tasks". (Templates for Squid/Cricket at http://workaround.org)
