From everything indicated in this thread (HTTP/1.1, gzip) it smells like a
MSIE browser bug triggered by a change in the MSN network.
As already expressed transparent proxying is evil and violates fundamental
aspects of TCP/IP specifications which the HTTP specifications in turn
build upon. This kind of breakage is to be expected from time to time when
using transparent interception.
