No, the question is how to overcome the fears of the other IT staff.
Identify and address their fears, and explain why autoconfiguration scripts
are a better route than transparent proxying.
If all else fails, remember that the advice of a neutral third party is
often very convincing. Point them to this discussion and say "this is what
the experts on a technical mailing list for proxy server software
recommended."
