Only if you want to use more than one group for different levels of
access, or if the user objects within your LDAP directory does not carry
information about group memberships.

If your user objects carry group membership information and all you want
to do is to limit authentication to a set of users then specifying a LDAP
search filter limiting which users can be found by squid_ldap_auth in the
directory is fine.
