This is specifically what seemed to be my issues when Squid utilization
was out the roof.
This error was in cache.log about 300 times. My cache directory was full,
as well.
I'm very interested with this issue.

Subject: [squid-users] WARNING: Disk space over limit in
Version 2.5.STABLE5
Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a fix for the ?WARNING: Disk space over
limit:?
in 2.5.STABLE5? I found a patch for 2.3STABLE3 at
"
http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.3/bugs/squid-2.3.stable3-storeExpi
redReferenceAge.patch" but no mention in the release notes of later
versions.
I am running 2.5.STABLE5 on FreeBSD and noticed the errors. Is the same
patch supposed to work for this version? I read somewhere that this is
caused by Squid not releasing space after expiring some objects.
