Some proxies enters tunnel mode when seeing NTLM requests to work around
the Microsoft brain damage.
Others support the microsoft HTTP extension draft to enter tunnel mode,
for the same purpose (and reason).
Both are possible to implement, but so far nobody has shown interest in
implementing them as using NTLM over the public Internet is an bad idea to
start with (NTLM is designed for local LAN authentication, nothing more).
Patches implementing this is obviously welcome.

This site describes the development of the support for the NTLM proxy
authentication scheme found in Squid-2.5, not related to proxying of NTLM
to web sites.
