We've been using squid running on a Dell poweredge 6500 with Gentoo Linux for about 4 months with no real problems.
Its serving approx 750 users with AD authentication using NTLM / winbind authentication - It's configured with 20 NTLM authenticator processes but looking at the stats it would probably be fine with 10.

Does anyone happy with performance of squid after integrating with ADS for
authentication ( Can be any type of authentication NTLM or LDAP )? If so
could you share your experience with me.
Thanks,
