found the problem right after sent the last msg out. the error_directory in
my squid.conf is wrong.

Just compiled and installed squid 2.5STABLE5 on solaris 8, but it keeps
dying every time I tried to start squid. (truss shows it "Received signal
#14, SIGALRM, in sigsuspend() [caught]" It must be something simple but I
