hi all... i don't know if this has been asked before,
but it's not in the FAQ, so here goes...
i have a bit of a problem.. i have multiple upstream
carriers, and i am using BGP to connect to all of
them, as well as handling load balancing for my
networks and clients...
thing is, i have only one cache server for all my
networks, and would like to be able to set it up so it
can 'load balance' in tune with my BGP load
balancing..
typically, squid makes HTTP requests with its own IP
address.. however, i'd like to get it to make requests
with the client's IP address instead of its own.. this
way, all responses will be made to the client's IP
address, and in so doing, the configured return path
for the response will be taken, in effect, achieving
caching load balancing...
i've heard vendor "N" claim they can do this using
what they term 'IP Spoofing'.. for the record, i did
try setting it up at one of our other POPs, with no
luck (even after following their documentation right
down to the detail)..
my question is, can i achieve this with Squid..?.. is
there anything i can do..?..
all help appreciated..
Mark.
