I realise that this question has been asked many times in the past, but I'm
still stuck despite trying STFW etc.
I have a hardware firewall and squid (latest stable). I don't use iptables
or any software firewall. I am trying to limit the amount of files that
users are downloading from kazaa and (especially) kazaa lite using squid. I
have blocked port 80 on the hardware firewall for all computers except the
proxy server - to force users access http requests through squid. I have
also blocked port 1214 on the firewall for all computers. I understand that
kazaa uses port 80 if this port is blocked. Despite this, my monitoring
software does not report anything that looks like kazaa or kazaa lite files.
What other steps do I need to take to block access to kazaa/kazaa lite, with
this type of setup?
