Hi,
we use a pac file with a backup proxy (like that: PROXY normal_squid:80; PROXY backup_squid:80). When someone accesses an HTTPS Website sometimes the request gets to the backup proxy even when the normal proxy is up and running.
By making a Man in the middle attack I figured that the IE Browser uses the backup proxy after it got no response for three requests.
I haven't figured out why sometimes requests are not answered by the web server. I set up my own SSL Web server but with this web server it always worked (the browser never chose the backup proxy). So I don't know where the data (the request package or the answer package) gets lost when I make request to an HTTPS server through squid.
How could I figure out why some requests are not answered by the HTTPS Server when I don't have access to it?
thanks,
Markus Wagner
