Hi Antony,
I have the AV proxy running on port 3128
Squid running on port 8080
I have tried:
cache_peer 127.0.0.1 parent 3128 7 proxy-only
nonhierarchical_direct off
other than that, my squid.conf is based on the regular
squid.conf.default
thanks
Gabby.

Tell us your configuration: ie. what ports is each application listening
on,
what config have you used to try and tell Squid to chain to another
proxy on
the same box, etc.
Without knowing exactly what you've done, we can't point to the bit we
think
is not quite right.
Antony.
