[squid-users] Failed SNMP agent query

I'm quite a newbie to snmp but the docs are quite good and so I dont understand
why I cant make squid process my snmp-requests.
I always get an error in the syslogs:

Sep 18 11:07:23 gkserv11 squid[25619]: Failed SNMP agent query from :
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

The commands I tried to query:

$snmpwalk gkserv11.local:3401 public .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1.1
$snmpget gkserv11.local:3401 public cacheHttpHits

the config (wide open for testing)

acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0

acl snmppublic snmp_community public
snmp_port 3401
snmp_access allow snmppublic all

the squid (its from a package, but is has snmp enabled)
