Samba imitates an NT4 PDC to near perfection, so you just need to change
your configuration.

Assuming the domain is being rebuilt from scratch:

1) Stop Squid, Winbind, and Samba (in that order)
2) Make sure the IP Address and hostname for the PDC are correct in smb.conf
3) Start Samba
4) Join the domain
5) Start (and test) Winbind
6) Start Squid

If IT is making the Samba box a BDC, then promoting it to PDC, you can skip
Step 4.
