I just read the thread on this around May 11th and didn't quite see an
answer to my problem. I am trying to setup a test bench with 1 client,
1 server, 1 proxy, and 1 DNS box for testing by polygraph. I followed
the HOW-TO from the measurement factory. I am using polygraph 2.7.6 on
Red Hat 7.3. My proxy has squid 2.5STABLE2 and DansGuardian 2.4.6-8
(webfilter).
I can run the test without a proxy.
I can run the test pointing the clients at DansGuardian (webfilter).
When I try to bypass DansGuardian and point the clients at Squid, I see
no activity on the DNS and get "unsupported HTTP status code" messages
on the polyclient. I can query the DNS on the proxy box just fine
through a host command. I tried doing a make clean and disabling
internal DNS and adding a dns_nameservers pointing to the test DNS, but
still see no activity there (tcpdump) or the polyserver.
How might I get Squid to query the polygraph test DNS to run the test on
just Squid?
