first of all thank you for your help...
Well in my squid conf. file i've:
# TAG visible_hostname
*
*
*
# Default
Linux2

In host.conf:
order hosts,bind

In HOSTNAME:
Linux2

And, in hosts:
127.0.0.1 Linux2 localhost.localdomain localhost

But i've tried to do what you say (tick on the named and add
visible_hostname Linux2) but i've the same error.
Well, i use webmin to config various things and while i triying to
initialize cache the error is:
parseConfigFile: line 1955 unrecognized Linux2
FATAL: could not determine fully qualified hostname. Please set
visible_hostname
If i do it by console:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/squid start i have:
init_cache_dir /var/spool/squid... /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid: line 162: 2316
Abort
$SQUID -z -F -D 2>/dev/null
(the same....)
2317 Abort
$SQUID $SQUID_OPTS 2>/dev/null

i don't understand why in webmin the error is in line 1955 (here is
Linux2..) and in console is 162 (here i haven't anything, only comments of
the config file....)

I'm using 2.5 but in other machine that use 2.4 there is no problem and in
the visible_hostname i've:
# none (i try thin with 2.5 but doesn't work...)
