do i need to reconfigure? i using 2 server runing squid 2.4 and squid 2.5, i
want my 2.4 runing auth, 2.5 is just for trial.

hmm...
when i wrote this program, i compiled squid some of another basic
authenticator - for example msnt_auth, smb_auth.
i think, there is a configure options: '--enable-auth'. let's try
to reconfigure your squid with it, and recompile it.
what do you get, when you put this:
/path/to/squid -v?
