RE: [squid-users] Open Relay

I don't understand how squid can accept and process a mail on port 8080 or
whatever port squid is listening on. I would expect it would reject
anything that is not a http request?????

Do a search on "squid open realys" and have a look at some sites like
http://dsbl.org/main http://spamcop.net/ http://www.openrelaycheck.com/

It is usually someone using your box to send mass emails utilising a squid
port that you have inadvertantly left open.
