category : getjava
release : 1.4.1
subcategory : comment
type : bug
synopsis : GETJAVA: comment
description : FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
Sun JVM 1.4
FULL OS VERSION :
BROWSER VERSION:
Internet Explorer 6
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Pre-xp days, a Microsoft JVM enabled NTLM authentication so that my users authenticated against a squid proxy using their DOMAIN logins and the IE browser would send the login information without prompting. When using the Sun JVM, each time an applet is found on a site, it prompts for a login--a serious annoyance for my users. Are there plans to implement NTLM auth in Sun's JVM?
