your "beautified" version is very fine.

Actually, i have to admit, i tried to make it into the FAQ some time in
the past with the "maxdata" solution. However i never got any reaction
as a result to this post:

(Posting it to the list however is still helpful as google finds it.)

Maybe your summary has better chances.
