NTLM does NOT support group autentication at all.
you can use wb_group external helper to do this.

+ note that is an external helper!!!! not an NTLM one!!!!

wb_group uses SAMBA, samba doesn't care about NT Domain or Active Directory.

The only important thing is to configure correctly winbibindd and have
NTLMv1 enabled on the PDC (with ONLY NTLMv2 will not work)
