error

Hai,

I have a strange problem, which i cannot resolv it seems...

2 pc's, both W2000 SP2, both IE6 SP1, both using the same Squid-proxy
server, TCP/IP settings are 100% indentical (except the ip address 'course).

On one of the pc's, when i want to surf the internet, everything works fine,
pop-up from squid (samba based) for a password, and i am surfing
but on the other pc, i also get the popup, fill in the name+password and
then i get a internet explorer error message :

The page cannot be displayed
Cannot find server or DNS error

When i press refresh however, then i get the page after all....there is also
the option 'Detect network settings', which also works...

i can then surf without any problems, until i close the browser again. Then,
the first time i want to surf the net again, it happens all over again after
giving my name+password towards the proxy server.

The thing is, it happens on all my squid-server (i have several, in this
case its a older version (2.3 Stable 4) but like i said, it works fine on
the other PC....

Also, when i use a dialup, it also works fine (but then ofcourse it does not
go through the squid server but directly on the dial-up line)....

When i had still IE 5.5 SP2 on the PC i did not had this problem, it started
after i upgraded to IE6, (and with IE6 SP1 it is still there)....

anyone ever came across this thing ?

regards
Wiljoh
