ftp://user:password@host/ is the standard way.

Squid also accepts ftp://user@host/ IFF your browser is willing to do
authentication on ftp:// URLs. Unfortunately MSIE browsers are not
willing to do this. When it works you will be presented with a login
box.

ftp://host/ is per definition of ftp:// URLs anonymous FTP.
