Hi,
I believe the general consensus to be:
- don't do RAID, let squid load balance across the disks
- get FAST disks 10,000RPM or better
- lots of RAM
- dual CPU probably won't get you anything as squid is single-threaded
- reiserfs is better
Go have a look at swelltech.com. They list their configurations and relate
them to the upstream bandwidth. (I have absolutely no ties to Swelltech).
