hello
make sure that
/usr/local/squid/cache
and
/usr/local/squid/logs
exist and that the user/group that runs the squid process has write
permission on these directories.
note that when you run the command to create the cache i believe that your
user account must also have write permission on these directories.
so, you could run the squid -z as root, then chown/chgrp the cache and logs
directories.
