[squid-users] cache as proxy

Hi, guys

I am using Squid-2.5PRE10 on RedHat 7.2.
I want to use squid only as proxy. How can I do this ?
I went to documentation and found

cache_dir null /null ( works for Squid-2.4 and above ).

I tried same thing and I got error, which says

FATAL: Unknown cache_dir type "null"

Squid Cache(Version 2.5.PRE10): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.010 seconds = 0.00 user + 0.000 sys
Maximum Resident Size:0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 216
Aborted ( Core dumped)

What am I doing wrong here ? Any help or suggestion appriciated..
