yes .. cache log shows errors !.. ihad earlier disable it, but now after your
mail i enabled it in squid.conf & found some imteresting errors !!
i have a few acl in squid.conf to allow ip to use cache... basically they are
for different ethernet(5 in total) & have ip's passing through those
ethernet !.. this is a text file & i have created different files coz
iptables too reads from this file to allow usage of cache/internet/mail/www
servers etc !! ... but i guess iptables here is not important as you are
right, it was runnig on squid 2.4Stable6 earlier-->without **errors** !! ...
with squid -k reconfigure the cache.log says-->
strtokFile: /etc/squid/users-wireless not found
2002/07/14 11:53:45| aclParseAclLine: IGNORING invalid ACL: acl
users_wireless src "/etc/squid/users-wireless"
2002/07/14 11:53:45| squid.conf line 1485: http_access allow users_wireless
2002/07/14 11:53:45| aclParseAccessLine: ACL name 'users_wireless' not found.
2002/07/14 11:53:45| squid.conf line 1485: http_access allow users_wireless
the acl in squid.conf is ==>
acl users_wireless src "/etc/squid/users-wireless"
http_access allow users_wireless
this file is linked to /var/surfNet/access/users-wireless & has permission
640 !!
so why its hapenning **now** ? ... with squid2.4Stable7 the only
configuration i changed is ***aufs*** instead of ufs !!
1 more Question to ask.. if cache log says it cant find the **few** files,
why giving the command **service squid restart ** solves the problem ?..
the acl are working ok therefore with service command !
to end but not the least our squid box runs as transparent !!
awaiting a reply !
