While this would be nice, it isn't really that much of a problem.
What is taken for granted unless the poster says otherwise is that the
latest STABLE version of Squid is being used. This is the most
important. In fact, even if a person is running an older version, it is
assumed the person is considering upgrading and the answer to questions
on older versions is most often "upgrade".
