Correct * 2.
All official 2.95.* releases of GCC generates buggy code for Squid when using
-O2 on at least x86 processors (Intel & compatibles). Some of the Linux
distrubutions using GCC 2.95.3 have patched GCC to correct this issue, not
all.
Squid-2.4.STABLE3 and the Squid-2.5 snapshot releases properly detects GCC
2.95.3 and automatically disables the use of the -O option unless enforced by
the user.
The earlier GCC 2.95.* releases have been detected for quite some time.
