There is no need to recompile Squid when adding authentication modules.
Simply compile the module you need and install it in a proper location,
then tell Squid to use the new authentication helper/module.
For LDAP I'd recommend using the improved helper included in the
Squid-2.4.STABLE2 or later tar balls. There is also a bit of
documentation on how to set it up.
Build instructions:
./configure
cd auth_modules/LDAP/
make
