Hey Greg,
Check the smb_auth.sh script. smb_auth actually calls this shell script to
communicate through SAMBA, so make sure the path to SAMBA is correct. While I
was modifying smb_auth to accept a BDC, I noticed that if you compile smb_auth
independantly from squid it doesn't pull in SAMBA's path.

Subject: [squid-users] smb_auth
! need to get squid to authenticate windows user names into the proxy log
instead of IP. I believe I'm on the trail with using smb_auth although I'm
am not able to get it to authenticate to my domain... Even though I have
Samba working through WINS to the PDC. Is there any way for this to work or
am I totally off?
I am having problems with smb_auth. I installed the executable after
changing the SAMBAPREFIX and INSTALLBIN. I'm not to sure if it's looking for
the directory of executables for the SAMBAPREFIX or something else? Anyways
when I type in "smb_auth -W RUFFNECK" Ruffneck being our windows domain name
it seems to hang. It also hangs when I try "smb_auth -W RUFFNECK -U
193.0.2.2" which 193.0.2.2 is our PDC and WINS server.
