[squid-users] Checking user/password pair created by NCSA HTTPd

Hi,

I'm using NCSA HTTPd authentication with Squid. I would like to know if
there is a program so that I can check whether a given user/password pair
is valid or not.

Let's suppose I have a user called "john" and his password is "hello". I
would like to invoke a shell command like "checkpasswd john hello", the
program then crypts the password, checks the user/password pair in the
httpd's password file and returns an exit value (for example, 0 if the
user/password is ok, 1 otherwise). Anyone could help me with this?

        Thanks,

                Marcos Moura
